MBA group of students from Babson College is impressed with the International School
03/16/2010
Business and Management (MBA) students from Babson College, situated in Boston, Massachusetts and considered the main Business school in the world with focus on entrepreneurship, visited the  International School of Alphaville on March 15th.
After getting to know the building, the structure and the pedagogic proposal of the institution, students were impressed with the quality level offered by the International School to its students.
“They even said that they intend to build a partnership with us, and plan to  send a group every six months to get to know the school and absorb our know-how”, explains Professor Ricardo Mesquita Chioccarello, Manager of the International School of Alphaville.
The visitation started with a lecture given by Ricardo, in which he gave details of how the Project of the International School was idealized; explained the innovative pedagogic project; emphasized the entrepreneurial spirit and social conscience stimulated in students; drew a panorama of the situation of Brazilian education, both in private and public schools; and answered several questions.
“It is essential that our best schools share their educational practices, because they work very independently from one another”; “we get to know our clients very well, by means of small meetings, interviews and on a day–to-day basis, in order to be aware of their profile and requests”; “there are approximately 20 thousand private schools in Brazil, of which only around 1% are bilingual”; “our teacher staff is composed of pro active, bilingual, creative professionals who are constantly  perfectioning themselves”.
After the lecture, the visitors were taken on a tour of the school grounds. Teachers and students took turns giving explanations of the activities developed, in English presentations.
High School students, for example, broached some of the differentiated subjects in the curriculum , such as “Entrepreneurship and Life Project”, where they learn concepts as “business plan”, besides activities where they can have interesting experiences such as  the social Project Windows to the Future, in which they become English, French and Spanish teachers, giving classes to socially disadvantaged young people. After their presentations in English, students were asked if they had ever studied abroad and were congratulated on their knowledge of the language.
It is worth mentioning that among the visitors there were people from counties diverse as the USA, Switzerland, India and Bulgaria.
For the Indian Raghav Badiger, the International School has an “ excellent structure”. “I studied at a bilingual school in Bangalore (India) which was very good, but does not compare to yours.”
Jay Babla , another Indian, defined the  International School as “very impressive”.
The American Elizabeth Borges stressed the learing of languages as one of the highlights of what whe observed.
What called the North American Chris Lammarca ’s attention was
“inovação no ensino junto aos jovens alunos, que estimula a criatividade, e a missão da escola, de formar líderes e empreendedores preocupados com um mundo melhor, que lega confiança aos estudantes”.
“the innovation in education, stimulating creativity and the mission of the school in educating leaders and entrepreneurs concerned with a better world, transmitting confidence to students.”
