Labor Judge Rogério Neiva Pinheiro gives lecture on strategies to study for vestibular

The use of strategies and techniques of preparation adopted in the competitive world of public contests by students who will take the entrance exam (vestibular) for universities. This was the purpose of the lecture entitled "How to prepare for the entrance exam with strategy, efficiency and rationality", given by the teacher of preparatory courses for contests and Labor Judge Rogério Neiva Pinheiro to students of the International School of Alphaville, on February 14. The lecture is one of the activities related to the subject “Entrepreneurship and Life Project, taught by the teacher Ricardo Mesquita Chioccarello. Rogério´s presentation was the result of an adaptation of the lecture which has been offered for the longest period of time to candidates of public contests and official exams, such as the bar examination in Brazil. The lecture not only covered concepts and techniques on how to develop a strategic and efficient preparation, but also presented a system of organizing, controlling and monitoring the study plan developed by the lecturer, called 'Tuctor'. The approach developed with students covered three main pillars : organizing and executing the study plan, which involves the definition of contents and subjects to be studied, the source of studies and the need to separate efficient time and effort; the execution of the plan, having as its focus the preoccupation with the efficiency of learning; and the care necessary for the emotional conditions, involving factors such as motivation, belief in approval, discipline and perseverance. The lecturer explained "the first two pillars involve the rational part of the preparation and the third involves the emotional part; both are essential in order to obtain results". The lecturer also talked about his experience as candidate in public contests; the results illustrate the validity of the efforts in studying: Rogério passed the contests for State Prosecutor and Attorney for Brazil, and finally he passed the contest for Labor Judge, which was his final objective. Besides his own experience, he also described cases with students he has been accompanying. Therefore, he mentioned the story of a student who used to work as supermarket cashier and passed a contest for Judiciary Specialist. Later, Rogério introduced 'Tuctor', a system developed by him to organize and monitor the study plan in a rational and effective manner, which is available for those who are interested at the site www.tuctor.com.br. Students at the International School learned how to use 'Tuctor' and obtained the license to use the system. Students not only enjoyed the lecture , but also learning how to use 'Tuctor'. According to the student Fábio Nassar, from High School 3, the orientation given during the lecture will be very useful in his preparation for vestibular. " I have already enrolled in the site and put down the subjects I will study so that I will know how much time I will spend on each one", he explains. Camila Ciapinna, from High School 3, considered the approach on the impact of vestibular on a student´s life positive. "You must be well both physically and psychologically, otherwise you will not learn what you are studying; but on the other hand, you get a heavy conscience when you don´t study”, she says. According to her classmate Mariana Piesco (High School 3), the lecture was useful for her to learn a method of studying. “He also called attention to the fact that it is necessary to give up certain things in order to obtain others”, she observes. “It was cool, specially when he talked about the psychological aspect of the vestibular: he showed us it is possible to be approved, and that if things don´t come out as planned, there is still plenty of time to reach our objectives, and that , therefore, we should not despair”, concludes Mariana.
